Chicory Parmance

A Premium Choice for Fresh Market Producers

The «Parmans» leafy chicory by Enza Limited is a strategic choice for growers targeting the premium fresh-cut segment. Hailing from Dutch breeding programs, this variety is engineered specifically to meet the high aesthetic and culinary demands of the modern salad industry. Its striking green-and-yellow foliage provides the visual contrast essential for high-end retail salad kits.

Cultivation and Operational Scenarios

Professional farmers integrate «Parmans» into their operations to achieve specific production goals:

• High-Value Salad Blends: The unique coloration adds a distinctive visual appeal to packaged greens, helping growers command a better price point in competitive markets.
• Streamlined Harvest Cycles: Uniformity in growth allows for consistent, predictable harvesting schedules, which is vital for maintaining steady supply chains to supermarkets and restaurants.
• Efficiency in Production: Designed to respond well to standardized greenhouse management practices, «Parmans» minimizes the learning curve for staff while providing reliable yield performance.

From a practical standpoint, the intensity of the leaf color is managed through controlled environment agriculture, such as specific light regimes and humidity management in greenhouses. By focusing on «Parmans», agricultural managers can move away from generic commodity greens and offer a specialty product that excels in both taste and presentation. It is an ideal variety for businesses shifting toward high-margin, culinary-focused vegetable production.
