Chicory Galanti

Reliable Chicory for Commercial Production

When running a high-intensity salad leaf operation, the primary goal is predictability. Galanti by Rijk Zwaan is a classic example of Dutch breeding aimed at making a grower’s life easier. In the field, this variety is disciplined: it doesn't require excessive management and delivers consistent harvest results that simplify your supply chain.

Phytosanitary Control: Less Chemical Input, Higher Margins

The most significant advantage of this hybrid is its natural immunity. Leaf chicory is notoriously susceptible to downy mildew and powdery mildew, which usually forces agronomists into a tight schedule of expensive fungicide treatments. With Galanti, that pressure drops significantly. Its genetic resistance is field-proven, allowing you to cut back on crop protection costs while maintaining a high-quality product that meets modern safety standards.

Quality and Marketability

The fresh market values appearance and flavor profile above all else. Galanti leaves feature an attractive texture that holds up well during transport and shelf display. The taste is well-balanced: the characteristic slight bitterness of chicory is subtle enough to enhance the flavor without overwhelming the consumer. This makes the variety perfect for fresh salad mixes.

• Type: Leafy (salad) chicory, designed for efficient harvesting and logistics.
