Chicory PALA ROSSA

The Universal Standard of Red Chicory

The "Pala Rossa" chicory from the Lance company has firmly established itself in the professional vegetable growing segment as the benchmark for red leafy chicory, specifically the radicchio type. Its origin is tied to heterosis breeding methods, which ensures exceptional plant uniformity, stable head shape, and a rich color that deepens to a wine-red shade as the harvest approaches.

Agronomy and Productivity

The variety is focused on producing high-quality marketable produce in a short timeframe, with a growing period of just 80 days. This early maturity allows for efficient conveyor production, ensuring a fresh harvest during optimal development phases. "Pala Rossa" demonstrates excellent adaptability to local climatic conditions, setting it apart from international counterparts that are often demanding of specific microclimates.

Gastronomic Properties

The consumer qualities of this variety are defined by its balanced taste: the characteristic piquant bitterness of chicory is softened here by sweetish notes, making it a highly sought-after product in the HoReCa segment. Key areas of application include:

• Preparation of exquisite salad mixes, where "Pala Rossa" serves as a crucial color and flavor highlight.
• Fresh consumption as a standalone side dish or as part of a healthy diet.
• Forcing of root vegetables, which extends the availability of the product line from the Lance company.

Choosing this variety means betting on proven genetics and stable yields that meet modern market demands for appearance and taste in the leafy salad category.
