Chicory Stori

Dutch breeding for the professional market

The 'Story' chicory variety from the Dutch company Enza Zaden is a choice for those who prioritize predictability and stability. Registered in Ukraine in 2026, this variety belongs to the curly type and demonstrates excellent adaptability to various growing conditions.

Appearance and morphology

The plant forms a medium-diameter rosette with a semi-erect habit. The dark green leaves are of medium length and feature characteristic semi-fan-shaped venation. An important feature of 'Story' is the moderate tendency of the core to discolor, which allows the produce to maintain its marketability longer than many alternatives. The absence of anthocyanin coloration at the base of the leaf highlights the purity of the variety.

Technological advantages

• Maturation timing: The variety is characterized by a medium period to reach consumer maturity, making it convenient for planning conveyor-belt deliveries.
• Resilience: The medium bolting time allows farmers to be flexible with their harvesting schedule without fearing a sharp loss of quality during minor delays.
• Leaf structure: Short leaf lobes and moderate edge serration ensure the density of the rosette, which is highly valued in the fresh salad segment.

'Story' is a practical tool for vegetable growers who need a high-quality product with a predictable development cycle. Thanks to Dutch breeding, the variety combines the aesthetic appeal of dark green foliage with the efficiency required for modern logistics.
