Chicory Dietary

Why "Dieticheskiy" is the preferred choice for root chicory

The "Dieticheskiy" chicory variety, produced by NPF Russian Seeds (Rossiyskie Semena), is a specialized agricultural product designed for those focused on functional food production. Developed in collaboration with the Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources, this variety is engineered to produce high-quality roots rich in inulin, making it an excellent choice for health-conscious growers.

Practical Application and Cultivation

This variety is highly valued in small-scale farming and private plots for its consistency and ease of processing. Key operational scenarios include:

• Natural Coffee Alternative: The roots are specifically suited for drying, roasting, and grinding. They maintain a consistent texture, which is crucial for achieving the perfect flavor profile in homemade caffeine-free beverages.
• Efficiency in Production: Because the variety produces a uniform, well-developed root, post-harvest processing (cleaning and slicing) is significantly simplified compared to wild-growing varieties.
• Soil Management: The plant thrives in deeply tilled, well-drained soils. Strategic spacing between rows is recommended to encourage vertical root growth and prevent forking, ensuring a high yield of top-tier raw material.

By choosing this variety, growers benefit from the rigorous breeding standards maintained by the Vavilov Institute, ensuring robust plant health and high nutritional value. It is an essential crop for diversifying home food production and ensuring a steady supply of high-fiber, prebiotic-rich ingredients.
