Chicory Lilliance

Field Strategy for Lilians

Lilians chicory, developed by the Dutch breeding company Enza Zaden, is a population variety that demonstrates a balanced response to environmental stress during the growing season. Since its official registration in Ukraine in 2026, the variety has established itself as a reliable choice for achieving stable yields even under challenging climatic conditions.

Resilience to Climatic Challenges

• Drought and Heat Tolerance: Lilians features a well-developed root system capable of efficiently utilizing moisture from deep soil horizons. During periods of extreme heat, the variety shows low susceptibility to premature bolting, which is critical for maintaining root quality.
• Phytosanitary Profile: The genetic background of the variety provides a high level of tolerance to major pathogens affecting chicory in temperate climates. Lilians exhibits resistance to root rot, which helps minimize post-harvest storage losses.
• Adaptability: The variety adapts successfully to various soil types, including loams, provided that crop rotation practices are followed. The lack of leaf rosette lodging facilitates mechanized field maintenance.

Choosing Lilians is a commitment to predictable results. Thanks to Dutch breeding standards, the variety shows high uniformity of root crops, which simplifies primary processing and reduces production waste percentages.
