This variety was obtained at the Dubovskoy Support Station of the Nizhnevolsky Region, NIIHS, by R.V. Korneev and L.K. Zhukova through crossing the varieties Lyubskaya and Zhukovskaya. It was introduced into the State Register in 1997 for the Nizhnevolsky region.
The tree has medium growth vigor. At 8 years old, it reaches 3.2 m in height and has a 3 m crown diameter. The crown is of medium density, rounded, and slightly raised. Main branches are curved, reddish-brown, and emerge from the trunk at an angle of 70-75º. Bark on the trunk and main branches is peeling, gray-brown. Shoots are medium-sized, thick, brown, and curved. Buds are located singly or occasionally in pairs on shoots, large, brown, positioned at a 45º angle to the shoot. Fruit set is mixed — on flower clusters and one-year shoots. Fruits are arranged in clusters on shoots. Leaves are medium-sized, inversely egg-shaped, elongated, dark green. Leaf margins are wavy. Toothedness is serrate-lobed. Leaf blade is concave and curved downward. Base is rounded. Apex sharply transitions to a pointed tip, elongated. Leaf petiole is long, thick, and pigmented. Flowers are medium-sized, white, bell-shaped. There are 4-6 flowers in the fruit bud. Calyx is pinkish.
Fruits are very large (average weight 6.7 g), round, dark red. Peduncle is medium-length and thick. Suture is barely noticeable. Skin is glossy and semi-detached. Flesh is dark red, tender, juicy, slightly acidic-sweet, excellent flavor. Juice is intensely colored. Pit separates well from flesh, medium-sized, round. Variety is of universal use. Suitable for fresh consumption, making compotes and jams. Fruits contain 12.77% dry matter, 9.70% sugar, 1.32% acid, and 9.65 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Self-fertile. Acceptable pollinators include varieties: Kentskaya, Peskovatskaya, Lyubskaya, Zhukovskaya. Enters fruiting stage on the 3rd-4th year after planting in the orchard. Fruits ripen in the third decade of June. High-yielding. Average yield over 4 years for 9-12-year-old trees on a 5 x 2 meter spacing was 128.5 centners/ha. Trees exhibit high cold resistance. No damage to above-ground parts from frost was observed. No disease infestations were noted.
Advantages of the variety: high fruit quality, marketability, high yield, cold resistance, self-fertility.
