The 'Igrushka' cherry variety is a self-fertile hybrid obtained at the Institute of Irrigated Horticulture named after M.F. Sidorenko of UAAN by crossing cherry 'Lyubskaya' and peach 'Solnechny Shar'. The tree is vigorous, reaching up to 7 meters in height, with a broad spherical or oval crown. The bark on the trunk and branches is gray and flaking; shoots are thick, straight, and brownish. Leaves are large, broad, egg-shaped, dark green, and smooth. The variety begins fruiting in the third year after planting.
The fruits of the 'Igrushka' variety are large, weighing about 8-9 grams, with a rounded-heart shape, rounded apex, and small indentation at the base. The fruit skin is dark red, thin, and easily separates from the flesh. The flesh is dark red, tender, juicy, with red juice. The stone is medium-sized, rounded, and free, easily separates from the flesh. The fruit flavor is distinctly tart-sweet and pleasant, confirmed by a high tasting score of 4.5-4.7 points. Fruits ripen at the end of June to early July and are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for making juices and wine.
The variety is characterized by high yield and resistance to drought and frost, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The pedicel is medium-length, thick, and well-detaches from the branch, but the variety is self-sterile and requires pollinators. Best pollinators for 'Igrushka' are varieties 'Shalunyia', 'Samsonovka', as well as peaches 'Valeriy Chkalov', 'Krupnoplodnaya', and 'Franz Iosif'.
