Cultivar developed at the VNIIL Lupine Institute. Breeders: M.V. Kanshina, A.I. Astakhov, A.A. Astakhov. Introduced into the State Register since 2004 for the Central region.
Medium-sized tree with a short trunk, spherical crown, drooping branches. Buds slightly pointed, curved. Leaves broad, round, medium-sized, green, flat blade, gradually pointed apex, pointed base, finely toothed margin. Petiole medium length, pigmented, has 2 glands. Inflorescence has 3 flowers. Flowers small, corolla saucer-shaped, petals arranged freely, white, stigma level with stamens, calyx cup-shaped, absence of toothed sepals, long stamens and stigma. Flowers and fruits form on one-year growth.
Fruit: average mass 4.1 g, maximum 5.2 g, height 19 mm, width 21 mm, thickness 19 mm. Shape flat-round, moderate depression, flat-round apex, dark-red color, lighter along the ventral suture, dark-red flesh, dense, red juice. Pedicel medium length and thickness. Stone oval, mass 0.34 g (8.4% of fruit mass), light-brown, rounded apex, broadly rounded base, stone separates easily from flesh. Fruits juicy, taste score 4.6 points, good detachment, does not crack. Fruits contain 14.6% dry matter, 9.5% sugars, 0.9% acids, 11 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Flowering and fruit ripening are late and simultaneous. Begins fruiting at 5 years. Partially self-fertile. Average yield 43 centners/ha, maximum 87 centners/ha. Cold hardiness is high. In severe winters at -29°C air temperature, and -34°C on snow surface, tree damage was 0.6 points, flower buds 5%, stamens 28% at 3-5°C frost during flowering. Resistant to coccomyces and moniliosis.
Advantages of the cultivar: high winter hardiness, resistance to fungal diseases, dessert fruits.
