This variety was obtained at the All-Russian Selection and Technology Institute for Horticulture and Nurseries by H.K. Enikeev and S.N. Satarova through open-pollination of Zhukovskaya variety seeds. It was included in the State Register for the Central Region in 2001.
Trees are medium-sized — about 2–2.5 m, with spherical, spreading crowns of medium density. Leaves are of medium size, dark green, with serrated leaf margins.
Fruits are medium-sized (mass 3.5–3.8 g), round, slightly flattened, dark burgundy, nearly black, ripening July 20–25, suitable for fresh consumption and all types of processing. Flavor is sweet-tart, dessert-like, flesh tender and juicy, juice dark red, small oval stone easily separates from flesh.
High productivity (10–12 kg per tree or 8–10 t/ha). Early-fruiting, annual bearing, self-fertile, fruits set on last year’s growth and flower clusters. Winter hardiness is above average (at the level of Vladimir region), medium resistance of flower buds. Medium resistance to major fungal diseases (moniliosis and coccomycosis).
Advantages of the variety: high-yielding, medium-ripening variety.
Disadvantages: medium resistance to fungal diseases, medium winter hardiness of flower buds.
