SEMENOVNA is a new modern mid-season carrot hybrid that features very high yield, uniformity, and smooth root crops without lateral roots or 'beard'. The root crops have a cylindrical shape with a smooth skin, measuring 18-20 cm in length and weighing from 115 to 158 grams. They are exceptionally sweet and juicy, with high carotene content (up to 24 mg per 100 g of raw substance), vitamins, dry matter (14.5%), and total sugar (7.9%). Due to these qualities, the carrot is suitable for both fresh consumption and canning, freezing, and long-term winter storage.
The hybrid is resistant to bolting and has a prolonged storage period, making it universal for cultivation in all regions of Russia. For an early harvest, it is recommended to sow under winter conditions at the end of October to early November, as well as spring sowing at the end of April. Seeds are sown in furrows at a depth of 1-2 cm with a distance between rows of 18-20 cm and between plants of 3-7 cm, taking into account the high germination rate of seeds to avoid the need for frequent thinning.
Cultivation agronomy includes regular watering, soil loosening, fertilization, and weed removal. It is important to control the amount of nitrogen and water, as their excess can delay root crop growth, while a sufficient amount of potassium is required for normal development. Thanks to these features, SEMENOVNA guarantees a stable and quality harvest of beautiful, sweet, and nutritious carrots.
