Carrot Primecut 59

The Dutch Breeding Standard for Commercial Farming

The Primecut 59 carrot hybrid, developed by the globally acclaimed brand Nunhems, represents the pinnacle of Dutch agricultural research. Built for professional growers who demand consistency, shelf stability, and high marketable yields, this hybrid has earned its place as a reliable asset in the global produce market.

Agronomic Strengths and Disease Resistance

In high-intensity farming, crop health is paramount. Primecut 59 stands out due to its advanced genetic resistance to key foliage diseases. By reducing the pressure of environmental pathogens, the hybrid provides farmers with a significant advantage in crop management. Key resistances include:

• Alternaria Leaf Blight (Alternaria dauci)
• Cercospora Leaf Spot (Cercospora carotae)

This natural resilience minimizes the necessity for frequent fungicide applications, resulting in a more sustainable production cycle and reduced operational costs without compromising output.

Product Quality and Marketability

Primecut 59 is characterized by its vibrant orange color, which remains consistent through storage and transportation. The root uniformity is a hallmark of Nunhems' breeding, ensuring that each harvest is optimized for mechanical harvesting and professional packaging. Whether destined for fresh market retail or long-term storage, the root structure remains firm and palatable, meeting the strict criteria of modern supply chains. The combination of its hardy foliage and the high-quality, uniform root makes it a versatile choice for any commercial carrot production system.
