Carrot Highcut

Professional Grade: Reliability in the Field

The 'Hykat' carrot hybrid from the Dutch breeding giant Nunhems is designed for growers who prioritize consistent, industrial-scale yields. In high-intensity farming, where fungal diseases can devastate margins within days, this hybrid offers a significant competitive advantage through its strong natural resistance to Alternaria leaf blight. By minimizing the need for constant chemical interventions, 'Hykat' allows for a more sustainable production cycle while maintaining high-quality output.

Key Features and Field Performance

• Root Quality: A perfectly uniform orange cylinder that retains its structural integrity during mechanical harvesting and long-distance transport.
• Disease Management: Superior genetic resistance to Alternaria ensures the foliage remains intact late into the season, which is crucial for modern automated harvesting equipment.
• Consistency: Nunhems' breeding excellence provides high homogeneity, reducing the percentage of cull crops during grading and packing.

This hybrid is an optimal choice for large-scale operations targeting the retail market and long-term storage sectors. While 'Hykat' is remarkably forgiving regarding general crop management, its true potential is unlocked in loose, well-drained soils. Growers should note that, despite its resistance, maintaining appropriate crop rotation is still essential to prevent soil-borne issues that could affect root development.

For producers who need to mitigate operational risks without sacrificing quality, the 'Hykat' hybrid represents a balanced, top-tier solution backed by the reputation of Dutch agricultural innovation.
