Carrot CORN F1

Moravoseed expertise in Flakkee-type carrots

Czech company Moravoseed has established a strong reputation in the professional vegetable market, and Cortina F1 stands out as a top-tier choice for late-season production. Designed specifically for growers who prioritize long-term storage, this Flakkee-type hybrid has become a standard for maintaining quality well into the winter months.

Agronomic resilience and plant health

In intensive farming, the health of the foliage determines the quality of the final crop. Cortina F1 is specifically noted for its genetic resistance to Alternaria leaf blight and Cercospora leaf spot. This resilience ensures that the canopy remains healthy throughout the entire 150–160 day growing period, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications and lowering production costs.

Technical specifications for post-harvest

• Maturity: 150–160 days, ensuring full root development and tissue density.
• Root morphology: Classic conical shape with excellent uniformity.
• Dimensions: 18–20 cm in length, meeting standard retail requirements.
• Color: Intense, uniform orange color that resists fading during storage.

The high density of the root tissue makes Cortina F1 highly suitable for mechanical harvesting and long-term cold storage. Growers can rely on this hybrid to deliver high-quality, market-ready carrots long after the harvest season has concluded, making it a cornerstone for those focusing on the off-season vegetable market.
