Carini

Carini carrot is an early and productive Shantane-type variety developed by the Dutch company Bejo Zaden. This hybrid is successfully grown throughout Ukraine and is characterized by high yield: with proper agronomy, 4-5 kg of roots can be harvested per square meter within 100-105 days after sowing. Carini carrot is suitable for both early harvests in bunches and for second crop cultivation. The variety is resistant to diseases such as cercosporosis and alternaria, which significantly simplifies care and improves product quality.

For successful cultivation, choose fertile, moist, and loose soils protected from drafts. Key agronomic practices include regular thinning of seedlings, timely watering, and application of mineral complex fertilizers, especially potassium and phosphorus compounds. It is important to note that excessive watering after dry periods may lead to fruit cracking, so watering should be balanced.

Carini carrot roots have a conical shape, smooth surface, and rich orange flesh and skin color. Fruits reach up to 15 cm in length and weigh between 100 and 150 grams. Due to its high carotene content — over 29 mg per 100 grams — this variety is valued for its nutritional value and is suitable for producing healthy juices, purees, and dietary food. For long-term storage, select whole roots without cracks and store them with a small amount of soil or coniferous sawdust, which helps preserve flavor and quality.
