Description

Carrot variety Berlin F1 is a medium-early hybrid of the Berlikum type, developed by Bejo Zaden, a Dutch breeding company. This variety grows successfully under various climatic conditions and is suitable both for commercial cultivation and for home gardens. The vegetation period is approximately 113 days from sowing, allowing for stable and high yields of 50-55 tons per hectare. Seeds have a conical shape, germinate uniformly and quickly, with a sowing rate of 600,000 to 1.2 million seeds per hectare. The Berlin F1 carrot is adapted to cultivation on various soil types and requires phosphorus-potassium fertilizers, while nitrogen fertilizers should be applied cautiously to avoid deteriorating the taste of the roots.

The roots of Berlin carrots are cylindrical with a smooth surface, bright orange color without green edges at the base of the foliage. The length of the roots reaches 18-20 cm, with an average weight of 200-300 grams. The flesh is uniform, fiber-free, very juicy and sweet, with high sugar, carotene, vitamin, and microelement content. The short root tail and small stem make the carrot convenient for mechanical harvesting and transportation. Due to its high commercial and nutritional value, this variety is widely used for fresh consumption, juice production, puree, vegetable mixes, canning, drying, and other processing methods.

Berlin F1 carrot exhibits resistance to diseases such as alternaria, cercospora, and viral diseases, and is not prone to head greening or flower stalk emergence. The variety has excellent transportability and storability, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. Thanks to its characteristics, Berlin F1 carrot is a versatile product suitable for cultivation under various conditions and for diverse culinary and industrial uses.
