Naijel hybrid carrot is a mid-early variety with a vegetative period of about 110 days from germination to harvest. This hybrid was developed by a Dutch breeding company and is intended for both fresh consumption and long-term winter storage. The leaf rosette is erect, the foliage is green and disease-resistant. The roots have a Nantes type, characterized by a medium length of 15-20 cm, a cylindrical shape with a blunt tip, bright orange color, and a weight from 80 to 190 grams. The flesh is dense, juicy, sweet and aromatic, with high sugar and carotene content, ensuring excellent taste and nutritional value.
The Naijel hybrid is characterized by high yields, reaching from 2.0 to 3.9 kg per square meter, and under favorable conditions – up to 9.9 kg/m². The roots are uniform, robust and resistant to cracking, making them suitable for mechanized harvesting and long-term storage without loss of quality. The fruit surface is smooth, which facilitates processing and transportation. Thanks to these qualities, the carrot retains freshness and taste characteristics until the next harvest.
Sowing seeds is recommended to be carried out in late April – early May at a depth of about 1 cm with a row spacing of 18-20 cm. After the appearance of seedlings, thinning is carried out, leaving 5-6 cm between plants for optimal root development. This approach to cultivation contributes to the formation of strong and uniform fruits, which are suitable for both fresh consumption and winter storage.
