Carrot Moreria F1

Efficient crop management with Morelia F1

For growers focusing on Nantes-type carrots, predictability is the top priority. Morelia F1, a Dutch-bred hybrid from Rijk Zwaan, has proven to be a reliable asset in the field, demanding fewer adjustments during the cultivation cycle while delivering consistent results.

Disease resistance as a cost-saving factor

The standout feature during the cultivation of this hybrid is its robust health profile. Morelia F1 demonstrates impressive resistance to cladosporiosis and powdery mildew, which effectively reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. Additionally, its resilience against the cucumber mosaic virus protects yield quality, significantly lowering post-harvest losses and sorting overheads.

Agronomic performance and harvestability

• Nantes characteristics: The roots are uniform and cylindrical, which is essential for high-efficiency washing and retail packaging.
• Consistency: Proper planting density yields an exceptionally uniform crop, reducing the load on harvesting machinery and simplifying post-harvest handling.
• Marketability: A dense internal structure ensures durability during transportation and extends shelf life, which is critical for long-term storage and retail supply chains.

Morelia F1 is forgiving in the field: it features vigorous germination and is not prone to cracking during periods of fluctuating soil moisture. For an agricultural operation, this translates into reduced wastage and a higher percentage of marketable produce per hectare.
