Carrot Narbonne F1

Long-term storage and reliability

When you are planning your crop rotation for long-term storage, the choice of hybrid is the foundation of your profitability. Narbonne F1 by Bejo has proven itself as a go-to option for late-season harvest. From an agronomist's perspective, its main strength is how it holds up in the field until the very last moment.

In-field performance

This Nantes-type carrot is highly resistant to Alternaria and Cercospora, which is a massive relief. The foliage stays healthy throughout the 130-140 day growing period, which is crucial for mechanical harvesting. A strong leaf attachment means fewer losses in the field when the harvesting machinery passes through.

Practical planting and management

This density consistently produces uniform 120–150 gram carrots. If you over-seed, you end up with undersized roots; if you thin it out too much, they become too coarse and prone to cracking. When grown correctly, the carrots are perfectly cylindrical and have a vibrant orange color that appeals to consumers.

• Storage life: The hybrid shows excellent shelf life and firmness after months in cold storage.
• Mechanical handling: The roots are smooth and resistant to damage, which makes washing and packing much more efficient.
• Adaptability: The variety handles different soil types well, provided you focus on ridge preparation.

If your goal is to supply the market from winter into early spring, Narbonne F1 is one of the most reliable hybrids Bejo offers. It combines ease of management with a high-quality marketable end product.
