MELLO YELLOW is a mid-late hybrid of yellow carrot, Nantais variety type, intended for growing in personal subsidiary holdings and commercial production. The root crops have a cylindrical shape with a smooth and even surface, a slightly tapered base, and medium diameter. The external color of the peel and core is rich yellow, which becomes even more vibrant after cooking, making the carrot appealing for culinary use.
The plant is characterized by a spreading rosette of leaves with long green medium-dissected leaves. The mass of one root crop varies from 150 to 195 grams, which ensures a good yield - from 10.5 to 11.5 kg per square meter. The hybrid is resistant to bolting and cracking, which improves the quality and shelf life of the product during storage and transportation. The content of dry matter is 9.5%, and total sugar is 5.9%, which ensures good taste qualities.
MELLO YELLOW is recommended for use fresh, for preparing vegetable mixes, freezing and winter storage. Thanks to its high juice-yielding ability (506 ml of juice from 1 kg of carrot) and excellent texture, this hybrid is perfect for preparing pilaf and other dishes. The sowing rate is 0.8–1.4 million seeds per hectare, and mechanized harvesting is also possible, which facilitates agro-technical processes.
