Carrot Charovnitsa

Betting on an early harvest: Charovnitsa carrot

For those looking to secure their first vitamin-rich harvest by early summer, the Sedek seed company offers the Charovnitsa variety. Developed by originators Dubinin S.V., Dubinina I.N., and Lukyanenko A.N., this variety is specifically engineered for early bunching production. Unlike late-maturing varieties designed for long-term winter storage, Charovnitsa is a tool for rapid turnover, providing a fresh product to the market or the table as early as possible.

Key characteristics and features

• Geometry and color: The root is consistently cylindrical, measuring 15–20 cm in length, which simplifies cleaning and commercial presentation. Its bright orange hue is highly attractive to consumers at markets.
• Agrotechnics: The variety performs exceptionally well when grown under film or agro-fiber covers. This is a critical advantage for regions with cool springs, as it allows for a 2–3 week head start compared to open-field sowing.
• Bunching potential: The variety is perfect for early harvest, reaching marketable size while maintaining the specific tenderness and juiciness characteristic of young carrots.

Who is this variety for?

Charovnitsa by Sedek is the choice for farmers and gardeners focused on intensive vegetable cultivation. If your goal is to capitalize on the early vegetable niche, this variety is a reliable partner. It requires timely watering and soil loosening, especially during the root formation stage, as early varieties can lose mass under moisture stress. It is important to note that Charovnitsa is not intended for long-term winter storage; its value lies entirely in its juiciness, tender core, and early maturity. While it may lack the long-term shelf life of heavier storage varieties, it excels in the speed at which it reaches a market-ready state.
