The DrisBlueNine blueberry variety is a mid-season, high-yielding Australian cultivar developed by crossing wild blueberry species. Bushes reach a height of 1.5–1.6 meters and exhibit high cold tolerance up to -34 °C, as well as resistance to diseases and pests, including anthracnose and septoria. This variety is self-fertile and mid-early ripening, making it suitable for both home gardening and commercial plantations.
The berries of DrisBlueNine are large, round, with a firm skin and light-blue bloom. They are juicy and firm, with a blue-purple color and sweet flavor with a slight acidity. The yield can reach up to 8 kg per bush, indicating its high productivity.
Care for the plant requires minimal effort, but to achieve high yields, it is recommended to follow a few simple guidelines. During the summer, daily watering is necessary; soil should be gently tilled to a depth of about 8 cm twice per season. Fertilization should be conducted in spring, summer, and fall; pruning of bushes begins in early spring from the third year. Mulching under the bushes with a layer about 12 cm thick should be done once every 2–3 years to retain moisture and improve growing conditions.
