Blueberry BB006: Precision Breeding by Frutek

The BB006 blueberry hybrid, developed under the Frutek brand with Alexander Yareschenko as the originator, represents a milestone in Ukrainian berry cultivation. As a specialized hybrid, BB006 is designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern berry production, combining resilience with high-quality yield characteristics.

Key Characteristics and Cultivation Potential

The variety grows to a manageable height of 150 cm, ensuring efficient labor allocation during the harvesting phase. The berries, noted for their vibrant blue color, typically weigh around 2 grams and reach 16 mm in size, making them highly suitable for both fresh market sales and storage.

• Ripening Flexibility: With categories ranging from early (50-60 days) to mid-season (65-75 days) and late (80-100 days), growers can effectively manage their supply chain throughout the season.
• Growing Environment: Like all high-performance blueberries, BB006 requires acidic soil conditions (pH 4.0–5.5) and significant exposure to sunlight. Its flowering period begins in May, necessitating standard frost protection protocols.

As a patent holder, Frutek ensures that BB006 meets strict quality control standards. This hybrid is positioned as an reliable investment for farmers looking to diversify their blueberry portfolio with a variety that offers a predictable biological cycle and consistent fruit quality.
