The Stanichnaya variety of common bean is a mid-season grain variety with a vegetative period of 66 to 86 days, allowing harvest to be obtained 55-65 days after seedling emergence. The plants are bushy, 30 to 58 cm tall, with pink flowers. The pods are long, straight or slightly curved, green in color with purple veins and a parchment layer, while the seeds are gray with purple streaks and a white hilum, having an elliptical or ovoid cross-sectional shape. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 527 to 607 grams, exceeding the indicators of some other varieties.
The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as low susceptibility to bacterial blight, which contributes to stable yield and product quality. The average yield in the North Caucasus region reaches 19.3 centners per hectare. The protein content in the seeds is about 24%, making the bean a nutritious product. Thanks to good preservation and high nutrient content, Stanichnaya beans are suitable for long-term storage.
This variety is valued for its high taste and commercial qualities, making it an excellent choice for home cooking. Beans are recommended for use in preparing soups, sides, and winter canning. Sowing is carried out in open ground at the end of May - early June at a depth of about 3 cm with a row spacing of 30x60 cm, which provides optimal conditions for plant growth and development.
