MARYA-ISKUSNITSA is an early-maturing variety of asparagus bean that matures 55-60 days from germination to fruiting. The plant is bushy, of medium height (40-50 cm), with green slightly wrinkled leaves and small white flowers. Pods of this variety are slightly curved, green, 14-17 cm long, narrow and round in cross-section. They lack a parchment layer and fibers, making them particularly convenient for preparing various dishes. The pod beak is of medium length and strongly curved, while the height of attachment of the lower pods is about 10 cm. Seeds are kidney-shaped, white, and of medium size.
The variety is valued for its high and stable yield, which reaches 2.3 kg per square meter, as well as for its resistance to bacterial wilt, which ensures reliable cultivation. Due to excellent taste qualities, MARYA-ISKUSNITSA beans are widely used in cooking. They are suitable for making soups and side dishes, as well as retaining their properties well during canning and freezing.
For planting, sowing is recommended into open ground at the end of May – beginning of June at a depth of about 3 cm, with a row spacing of 50 cm and a distance between plants of 10 cm. Such a planting regime promotes optimal plant development and maximum yield. This variety will be an excellent choice for those who value an early harvest and high-quality asparagus beans.
