AMALTEIA

The vegetable bean variety AMALTEIA is a mid-season bush variety with a compact plant height ranging from 35 to 46 cm. The plant leaves are green, the flowers are large and white, arranged in threes on long flower stalks. The pods are slightly curved, round in cross-section, smooth, of medium length (about 12-14 cm), without a parchment layer or fibers, which ensures high quality of canned products. The pod tip is pointed to blunt with a medium-length beak, and the height of the lower pods is about 13.4 cm. The seeds are white, round or elliptical, with a mass of 1000 seeds varying from 300 to 435 g depending on growing conditions.

The period from germination to technical maturity of the pods is 45 to 58 days, and to complete seed maturity — 75-85 days. The variety is characterized by uniform ripening and high marketable yield, reaching 21.7 c/ha or 11-12 t/ha. In the chemical composition of the pods, there is about 8.5-11% dry matter, 1.7-2.38% protein, as well as a significant amount of sugars, ascorbic acid and starch, which gives the product excellent taste qualities. Due to the absence of a parchment layer and fibers, the bean is suitable for use in cooking, canning, and freezing.

The AMALTEIA variety is resistant to bacterial blight and a complex of other diseases, which increases its reliability during cultivation. It is suitable for mechanical harvesting, which facilitates agricultural processes. Under favorable weather conditions, a remount yield is possible, which increases the overall productivity of the crop.
