The LUCHIK bean variety is an early-maturing bush variety of medium height, distinguished by high commercial yield and excellent taste qualities. The plant features green leaves of medium and large size with a slight wrinkled texture, and flowers of medium size with a white color. Pods at technical maturity are light yellow, long, of medium width, with a round cross-section and a long beak. They are straight or slightly curved, lack a parchment layer and fibers, making them particularly convenient for culinary use.
LUCHIK bean seeds are kidney-shaped, white with weak to medium intensity veining, of medium and large size. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 290 to 320 grams, while the mass of 100 pods reaches 740 grams. The attachment height of the lower pods is about 10 cm, which facilitates harvest collection. Commercial yield of pods reaches 2.7 kg per square meter, making this variety attractive for cultivation in personal subsidiary holdings.
For successful cultivation of LUCHIK beans, it is recommended to choose areas with light, well-drained soils, avoiding heavy, cold, and acidic grounds. The crop negatively reacts to chlorine-containing fertilizers, so their use should be excluded. For fresh consumption, beans are harvested multiple times, while for canning and freezing, a single harvest is conducted. Due to its characteristics and versatility, LUCHIK beans are ideal for cooking, canning, and freezing.
