Lukerya bean is a mid-season grain variety of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), developed by scientists of the Omsk State Agrarian University taking into account the climatic conditions of Siberia. The plant is bush-type with a curling apex, has green leaves and purple flowers. Pods of this variety are weakly curved, seeds are elliptical in shape, monochromatic and black. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 327 to 355 grams, while the protein content reaches 27.3%, making this variety nutritious and beneficial.
One of the key features of the Lukerya variety is its high resistance to anthracnose, as well as its ability to withstand drought and low temperatures, which ensures stable yields in various regions of Russia, including the Northern, Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Earth, North Caucasian, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, West Siberian, East Siberian and Far Eastern. Additionally, the pod shells do not crack when ripening, which facilitates harvesting and improves product quality.
For successful cultivation of Lukerya bean, it is recommended to choose well-prepared plots with fertile soil, provide regular care, including fertilization and protection from pests and diseases. Thanks to its adaptive properties and high quality, this bean variety is an excellent choice for farmers and gardeners seeking to obtain a stable and quality harvest in Siberian climate conditions.
