Green Waterfall bean variety is an early-maturing asparagus bean intended for home cooking, freezing, and canning. It takes 44-49 days from germination to technical maturity. The plant is tall, climbing, with a stem length of 200 to 250 cm, requiring mandatory support. Leaves are green, wrinkled, and of medium size, while flowers are white. Seeds are white, kidney-shaped, and small.
Pods of this variety are curved, green, 18-20 cm long, and 0.8-1.0 cm wide. In cross-section, they are round, fiberless, and without a parchment layer, ensuring tender flesh and pleasant taste. The pod beak is short and weakly curved, while the height of attachment of lower pods is about 25 cm. Yield reaches 3.4 kg per square meter, and fruiting continues from July to September.
For successful cultivation of Green Waterfall bean, it is recommended to sow directly into the ground in May-June at a depth of 2-3 cm according to the 15x20 cm scheme. The plant prefers a sunny, well-ventilated location and regular watering. The variety is resistant to diseases such as powdery mildew, root rot, and green mosaic, but may be affected by pests, including aphids, weevils, and whiteflies.
