ESCADRON

The ESCADRON (Claron) pea variety is a mid-late, high-yielding variety of broad bean with a strong, upright bush reaching about 50 cm in height. The plant exhibits high resistance to anthracnose and mosaic virus, ensuring stable fruiting over an extended period. Pods are straight, fleshy, 11 to 12.5 cm long and about 9 mm in diameter, with green or golden-yellow color and a waxy coating, making them attractive for freezing and canning.

For growing ESCADRON peas, open ground with well-lit, fertile, loose soils is recommended. Sowing is carried out when soil temperature reaches +8 degrees Celsius; optimal growth temperature is 20-25 degrees Celsius. Planting scheme — 50x20 cm, row depth 4-7 cm, seedlings emerge in 7-10 days. Soil cultivation is performed until flowering begins, and mulching with straw is advisable afterward. Irrigation is required 1-2 times per week. Best preceding crops include cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, and potatoes; avoid planting after other legumes.

In cooking, ESCADRON peas are widely used in boiled, stewed, and fried forms. Green pods are suitable for freezing, canning, and marinating. In terms of protein content, broad bean is comparable to meat, while being low-calorie. It contains vitamins C, E, A, B-group, folic acid, minerals, and fiber, making it a beneficial and nutritious product for a varied diet.
