Kylian is a medium-early bush-type variety with very thin green pods. The vegetation period from sowing to harvest is 58-63 days. Plants have upright, dense bushes reaching 40-50 cm in height. Pods are fleshy, round, 12-13 cm long, and fiber-free, making them suitable for direct consumption and long-term preservation. The variety features uniform ripening, enabling efficient mechanized harvesting.
Kylian is resistant to bacterial diseases, common bean mosaic virus, and anthracnose, enhancing cultivation reliability and crop quality. For successful cultivation, sow in open ground in April-May when soil temperature is not below +10-12°C. The optimal temperature for growth and development is +25-30°C. At temperatures dropping to +3°C, plants yellow and stop growing, and at frost, they die. Beans are warm-loving but poorly tolerate heat and drought, especially during flowering. Shade and dense planting negatively affect crop development.
Kylian thrives in light-textured soils with adequate humus content, such as light chernozems. The plant requires maintaining optimal soil and air moisture, as water deficiency reduces pod quality and promotes parchment layer formation, while excess moisture causes mass flower and pod drop. Apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in autumn, along with microfertilizers, which significantly enhance growth and yield.
