Bean Elegance

Engineering features of the «Elegans» variety

The «Elegans» green bean variety, developed by the originator «Iksgp Naan», is a breeding solution focused on production efficiency and yield stability within the Ukrainian climate. The bush-type growth habit eliminates the need for trellis systems, which significantly reduces the cost of both mechanical and manual harvesting.

Phytopathological resistance as a foundation for productivity

A key technical aspect of this hybrid is targeted selection for immunity against viral pathogens. «Elegans» demonstrates high resistance to the complex of viral mosaics, which are traditionally a limiting factor for vegetable beans. The absence of systemic viral infection allows the leaf canopy to remain active until the beans reach full technical maturity, directly impacting fruit filling and commercial appearance.

Morphology and commercial quality

• Bean type: Vegetable (snap/sugar) bean. The lack of a tough parchment layer makes this variety highly sought after for both the freezing segment and fresh market supply.
• Color spectrum: Technical maturity is characterized by an intense yellow color of the pods, simplifying visual monitoring of the harvest process.
• Architectonics: The compact bush form ensures uniform light penetration across all plant layers, reducing the risk of rot spreading due to excess humidity within the crop canopy.

Integrating «Elegans» into crop rotations is justified for farms aiming to minimize fungicide usage through the variety's inherent resistance and predictable plant architecture, which is optimized for field operations.
