The Aniskin basil variety is a medium-maturing plant with a period from germination to harvestability of about 50 days. The plant is of medium height, forming a semi-erect leaf rosette weighing between 350 and 480 grams. Leaves are of medium size, oval-shaped with anthocyanin coloring on the upper side. Yields of greens reach 2.0-2.5 kg per square meter, making this variety attractive for growing both indoors and in home gardens.
Aniskin is rich in vitamins and minerals, possesses toning properties and improves digestion. Basil leaves have disinfectant and diuretic effects, stimulate appetite, relieve stomach spasms and strengthen the nervous system. Thanks to these qualities, basil is widely used in fresh and dried form in cooking, as well as in salting and canning, giving dishes a rich spicy flavor.
For growing the variety, it is recommended to sow in seedlings in April with pricking out when 1-2 true leaves appear. Seedlings are transplanted into open ground in May or June when 5-6 true leaves have formed, following a planting scheme of 30x25 cm. Direct sowing at the end of May at a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm is also possible. Care for the plant includes regular watering, weeding and soil loosening, which ensures good growth and development of basil.
