Basil Dragon

A Spicy Classic with Character

The «Drakon» basil is a selection achievement by Elizaveta Romanovna Kudryavtseva, firmly established in the segment of decorative and aromatic herbs. The variety stands out among its competitors with its pronounced anthocyanin coloration and elongated leaf shape, making it not only a culinary ingredient but also a vivid accent in the garden or on a windowsill.

Agrotechnical Profile

The plant reaches a height of 60–70 cm, forming a compact yet robust bush. For optimal development, «Drakon» requires open, well-lit areas: a lack of light negatively affects the saturation of the purple pigment and the intensity of the aroma. The period from sowing to the first emergence takes 10–14 days, after which the crop actively develops green mass suitable for harvesting.

Gastronomic Potential

The main value of this variety lies in its spicy profile. Due to its high essential oil content, «Drakon» demonstrates excellent taste qualities across various applications:

• Cooking: an ideal addition to fresh summer salads, adding a piquant note.
• Preservation: an excellent component for marinades, where purple basil not only provides aroma but also helps create aesthetically pleasing jars.
• Beverages: the variety reveals its profile in herbal teas, creating an unusual flavor nuance.
• Home Growing: high adaptability allows for successful cultivation of «Drakon» both in protected soil and in pots at home.

Choosing this variety is a bet on stable yields and a predictable result, supported by the official registration of the plant variety. «Drakon» by Kudryavtseva E.R. is a professional approach to growing basil, focused on those who value the balance between plant aesthetics and flavor characteristics.
