Novosadski 448

The barley variety Novosadski 448 is early-maturing and recommended for cultivation in the steppe zone. The growing period of this variety is 88 days, allowing for a quick harvest. The variety is characterized by high yield potential up to 5.2 tons per hectare, making it attractive for grain production.

Novosadski 448 responds well to application of mineral fertilizers, which contributes to increased productivity and grain quality. It exhibits high resistance to spring frosts, ensuring stable yields under adverse weather conditions. Additionally, the variety shows good resistance to lodging (8 points) and diseases such as powdery mildew and helminthosporiosis (7 points each), reducing losses during storage and transportation.

This barley variety is winter-hardy and registered in 2009. It was developed and registered by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad. Thanks to its biological traits and adaptation to climatic conditions of the steppe zone, Novosadski 448 is widely used in grain production, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
