Novator Nosovskiy

Novator Nosovskiy barley is a high-yielding barley variety recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Polesie, forest-steppe, and steppe regions. The vegetation period of the variety is 86-90 days, and plant height reaches 67-73 cm. The variety is distinguished by resistance to major diseases such as powdery mildew and helminthosporiosis, as well as high resistance to lodging and shattering, which contributes to maintaining yield and improving its quality.

The barley grain of Novator Nosovskiy is characterized by high protein content — from 12.0 to 12.8%, and the 1000-grain weight varies within 40.0-47.0 g. The potential yield of the variety ranges from 2.6 to 4.5 tons per hectare, making it attractive for agricultural producers. The high-quality seed material, produced by NAAN of Ukraine and registered in 2018, ensures stable and ecologically clean plantings adapted to changing climatic conditions, including higher temperatures and soil moisture deficiency.

Novator Nosovskiy, a bright-seed type barley, is widely used as a food, feed, and technical crop due to the high nutritional value of its grain and stems. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to use regionally adapted seed material with high variety purity and germination energy, as well as to control seed moisture and contamination levels by diseases and pests.
