Barley Magical

Focus on Intensive Production

The winter barley variety "Kazkovyi," developed by the Selection and Genetics Institute, is an ideal choice for agricultural enterprises focused on intensive cultivation technologies. The variety demonstrates excellent response to fertilization and crop protection measures, allowing producers to maximize soil potential and ensure stable yields across various climatic zones in Ukraine.

Disease Resistance and Morphology

A key feature of this variety is its genetically determined resistance to major barley pathogens, which helps reduce the need for excessive fungicide applications:

• Helminthosporiosis;
• Powdery mildew;
• Dwarf leaf rust.

The plant height of 50–60 cm is a significant advantage for logistics and harvesting. Short-stemmed varieties are less prone to lodging, which reduces grain loss during harvesting and improves the efficiency of combine operation. This morphological trait ensures better distribution of nutrients directly into the ear.

Grain Quality and Economic Viability

With a 12% nitrogen content in dry matter, "Kazkovyi" fits well into both feed production and food processing scenarios. The variety's high adaptability to Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions minimizes the risks of crop failure during unfavorable spring weather. By including this variety in a crop rotation after early precursors, farmers can ensure optimal planting timing and improve overwintering success.

Practical application: "Kazkovyi" is the preferred choice for farms that value operational efficiency and consistent grain quality, aiming to achieve high yields through precise agronomic management.
