Barley Magnat

Stable Yields in Challenging Climates

The winter barley "Magnat" from the scientific and production agricultural firm "Zemlerob" is a breeding development designed for farms that prioritize profitability and crop resilience. In the specific context of the Ukrainian climate, this variety shows remarkable adaptability to environmental stressors, serving as a reliable asset for building a high-quality grain harvest.

Agronomic Features and Resilience

The key advantage of "Magnat" is its comprehensive field tolerance to diseases, including strong resistance to stem smut. Unlike many imported hybrids that demand intensive farming practices, this variety is more forgiving of deviations in cultivation technology. This reduces risks for farmers facing water scarcity or sharp temperature fluctuations during the spring season.

• Biological Potential: The variety demonstrates excellent tillering energy, allowing it to quickly canopy and effectively compete with weeds.
• Manageability: The plant features a balanced stem height, which minimizes the risk of lodging even when high levels of nitrogen fertilizers are applied.
• Crop Protection: Its genetic resistance to stem smut allows for optimized fungicide spending, reducing the need for multiple machine passes.

Who is this variety for?

"Magnat" is optimal for farms operating in high-risk agricultural zones, as well as for large agribusinesses looking to reduce the production cost per ton. It does not require a "surgical" approach, yet it responds reliably to proper mineral nutrition. If you are looking for a balance between accessible genetics and predictable results without overpaying for foreign brands, this variety from "Zemlerob" is a rational choice for your crop rotation.
