Winter barley Titus is a high-yielding forage variety belonging to the intensive type with high tillering ability. It is suitable for cultivation in most regions of the country and demonstrates stable yields even under adverse conditions. The growing period of the variety is approximately 250 days, plant height reaches 90-95 cm, and the thousand-grain weight is 50.8 g. Sowing is recommended at optimal times with a seeding rate of 2.5 to 4 million seeds per hectare depending on conditions. The Titus variety is characterized by high genetic resistance to major pathogenic diseases, as well as excellent cold and drought tolerance. The stem is tall and strong, with vertical straw position from the beginning of vegetation until harvest, minimizing grain loss during harvesting. The ear is medium-length six-rowed with well-developed kernels, elongated yellow grains, firmly held in the ear and not shattering. In early spring, the variety develops quickly, especially on soils with high mineral content, which requires application of growth regulators and fungicides for disease prevention. Titus is low-maintenance in cultivation and widely used in agriculture for producing high-quality grain suitable for milling, bread, porridge, and other food products.
