Barley LG Nabuco

French breeding for high yields

The spring barley «LG Nabucco» from Limagrain is a solution for farmers focused on stable production of commercial grain. French breeding is traditionally associated with an intensive type of development, and this hybrid is no exception. Its genetic potential is unleashed under high-quality farming conditions, allowing for the formation of a dense crop stand and uniform ears even under moderate stress.

The hybrid’s phytosanitary shield

One of the key features of «LG Nabucco» is its resistance to a range of common cereal diseases. Agronomists choose this hybrid for its pronounced tolerance to the following pathogens:

• Helminthosporium and brown leaf spot;
• Mycosphaerella leaf spot;
• Root rots;
• Stem smut and covered smut.

This "basic protection" embedded in the DNA allows for a reduction in the number of fungicide applications, which directly impacts production costs. In addition, the variety demonstrates good resistance to Frit fly damage, which is critical during the tillering and stem elongation stages.

Practical application on the farm

«LG Nabucco» shows the best results in fertile soils with good moisture availability. Thanks to its morphological characteristics, the plant effectively absorbs mineral nutrients, converting them into a high thousand-grain weight. As a spring barley variety, it is a convenient element of crop rotation for those aiming to make the most of early spring moisture and ensure uniform ripening by mid-summer. Choosing Limagrain technology is an investment in predictable results and high-quality grain that meets the requirements of the processing industry.
