Description Augi
Barley variety Augi is a mid-season cereal variety recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions. It is characterized by high yield, reaching a maximum of 75 centners per hectare, with an average yield of 43.6–45.7 centners per hectare. The vegetation period is 89–98 days, and plant height ranges from 75 to 92 cm. The ear is two-rowed, which contributes to forming high-quality grain with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 44.2–53.2 grams. The variety is resistant to lodging, shattering, and diseases such as false powdery mildew, dwarf rust, and leaf spot. The quality of Augi grain is high: protein content is 10.6–11.2%, starch content is 63.8%, and extractability reaches 80.0–81.0%. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to follow agronomic requirements, including a sowing rate of 4.0–4.5 million germinating seeds per hectare and seed depth of 4–5 cm with subsequent heavy roller compaction. An important condition is full supply of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to plants from the first days of vegetation, as well as mandatory seed treatment before sowing. Augi variety demonstrates high adaptability and drought resistance, as well as resilience to sudden weather changes, ensuring stable yields across various climatic zones of Ukraine. Thanks to these features, this barley is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and stable yields in the forest-steppe and Polissia regions.
