Psol

The barley variety Pśol is medium-maturing and recommended for cultivation in the forest-steppe zone. It is characterized by high yield potential, reaching 6.5 to 8.8 tons per hectare, and contains protein in the grain ranging from 10.6% to 11.6%. The vegetation period of the variety is about 90 days, and plant height reaches 85-90 cm. The ear is two-rowed, and the thousand-grain weight varies from 44.6 to 46.2 grams, indicating good grain size.

Pśol exhibits high resistance to lodging (8 points) as well as to major barley diseases such as powdery mildew and leaf spot, each rated at 7 points on the resistance scale. It is a universal type variety, allowing its use in various agrotechnical systems. To achieve maximum productivity, seed treatment before sowing is recommended.

Optimal sowing dates are related to the physical maturity of the soil, with seed depth of 4-5 cm followed by compaction with heavy rollers. A key aspect of crop care is weed control, disease management, and prevention of pest spread, which contributes to maintaining plant health and increasing yield.
