The Surlhuraray apple variety is an autumn cultivar developed at the M.A. Lisavenko Institute of Siberian Pomology by crossing the varieties Gornoaltaiskoe and Altayskiy Phoenix. The tree is of medium height with a round, sparse crown, characterized by early fruiting, bearing fruit as early as the fourth year. The variety is noted for its high winter hardiness and resistance to scab and spot, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions.
Surlhuraray apple fruits have a flat-round shape and weigh from 55 to 100 grams. Their skin is dense, smooth, and waxy, with a golden-yellow coloration adorned with raspberry-colored and striped lenticels. The flesh is creamy, tender, finely granular, juicy, and tart-sweet in taste with a pleasant aroma. The content of dry soluble substances reaches 12.39%, sugars — up to 9.91%, and acids — up to 0.9%, ensuring a harmonious fruit flavor.
Maturation periods fall at the end of August, and fruits can be stored until the end of September or mid-October, retaining their taste qualities and market appearance. The variety has a high yield: around the fourth year it is about 13.7 kg per tree, and by the twelfth year it reaches 55 kg. Due to its characteristics, the Surlhuraray apple tree belongs to universal varieties suitable for fresh consumption and storage.
