The SunSpark apple is a winter variety with high taste and commercial qualities. The fruits of this variety are large, weighing from 150 to 225 grams, have a flattened-conical shape with five well-defined ridges at the top. Their color is light green with an intense dark-red mottled pattern covering the entire surface and numerous small lenticels. The skin is thick, dense, smooth, and shiny with a waxy coating, ensuring high transportability and long storage life. The flesh is light green, turning light yellow upon ripening, juicy, aromatic, with a good sweet-sour flavor, rated 4.5–4.8 points. Harvesting for consumption begins at the end of September, and consumer readiness is reached in December, with fruits remaining viable in storage until April and in refrigerators until May. Trees of the SunSpark variety are grafted onto the semi-dwarf rootstock 54-118, which ensures rapid rooting and vigorous growth. By the 2nd or 3rd year after planting, apple trees begin fruiting, reaching a height of up to 3.5 meters. The trees are well anchored in the soil and do not require constant support, and they do not produce root suckers, which simplifies garden maintenance. The variety is characterized by high productivity and resistance to adverse conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones. SunSpark has high storability and disease resistance, enabling the preservation of fruit quality over an extended period.
