Sapphire

Sapphire. Late-winter variety.

Medium-sized tree with a flat-round crown. Moderate resistance to scab. Trees are sufficiently winter-hardy.

Fruits are above-average size, one-dimensional, spherical-conical with a broadly ribbed apex. Skin is light green with a blurred pink blush on the sun-exposed side, medium thickness, smooth and shiny. Flesh is greenish-white, dense, fine-grained, very juicy, sweet-sour taste, 4.3-4.4 points. Harvest maturity occurs at the end of September — beginning of October, consumer maturity — in December. In cold storage, fruits are kept until May — June.
