Apple Sorriso

Working with the Sorriso apple variety

For a farmer managing intensive orchards, choosing a variety is always a matter of balancing yield with labor requirements. The Sorriso variety from “AF Sady Ukrainy” falls into the category of crops that do not require immense effort to maintain but deliver consistent results. The tree features moderate vigor. In practical terms, this means pruning and crown formation take less time, and harvesting is significantly easier, which is critical during the peak of the season.

Fruit characteristics and orchard management

Sorriso fruits are compact apples weighing up to 50 grams. Their size makes them an excellent choice for the snack or baby food segment. The main yellowish-green color of the fruit is effectively complemented by a red blush that appears with proper exposure to sunlight. For an orchard owner, this is a plus: the fruits look attractive on the branch, which facilitates marketing the harvest.

• Adaptability: The variety is well-adapted to Ukrainian climatic conditions, which lowers risks associated with spring frosts.
• Maintenance: The medium size of the tree allows for efficient land use, ensuring optimal tree density per hectare.
• Harvesting: The fruits hold firmly to the stalk but have an optimal shape for mechanical or manual picking without damaging the skin.

By working with nursery stock from “AF Sady Ukrainy,” you get a predictable result. Sorriso is a choice for those who value functionality and prefer to avoid unnecessary agrotechnical complications in the orchard’s technological map.
