Apple SOLOVYOVSKOYE

Working with the 'Solovyovskoye' apple variety

When selecting a variety for an orchard in temperate climates, 'Solovyovskoye' from FANTSA stands out for its reliability. During seasons with excessive rainfall, when other varieties require frequent spraying, one can confidently reduce the treatment schedule here, which significantly saves the crop protection budget.

Fruit characteristics and logistics

The fruits, weighing 50–100 grams, fall into the compact category, which requires a specific approach to crown formation and thinning to achieve market size. They are easy to manage: the firm skin holds up well during transport, and the risk of damage during harvesting is minimal. This is a convenient option for retail distribution, where customers value consistency in shape and taste.

Key points for the owner

• Resistance: The variety effectively withstands apple scab, which eliminates one of the most persistent headaches in intensive horticulture.
• Maintenance: Despite its resistance, the variety responds well to proper agronomic practices. Regular pruning to improve air circulation in the crown is essential for the fruits to reach their maximum weight.
• Longevity: The trees show excellent survival rates. Given proper care, the life cycle and productivity of this variety allow for stable harvest planning years in advance.

If you are looking for a "workhorse" for your orchard that won't require constant attention or complex protection schemes, 'Solovyovskoye' by FANTSA is a solid choice.
