MUNSTER

The Munster apple is a winter variety bred by crossing the Bogatyr variety with form 25-33 (Prima × Malyuninka). It is a medium-sized tree with a narrow pyramidal crown of medium density, which ensures ease of care and harvesting. Fruit production begins 4-5 years after planting, and the variety does not show alternate bearing, indicating stable yields.

Munster apples are large, weighing on average around 230-240 grams, with a maximum weight reaching 300 grams. They have a conical shape with a strongly ribbed surface, smooth, oily, and shiny skin. The main fruit color is greenish-yellow with a pinkish-red blush. The flesh is yellowish, medium density, finely textured, juicy, with a sweet-sour taste and a pleasant aroma, making the fruits particularly attractive to consumers.

The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness, capable of withstanding temperatures down to -35°C, making it suitable for growing in the central region. Additionally, the Munster apple is highly resistant to scab, which reduces the need for frequent treatments and improves fruit quality. However, the variety has low resistance to subcutaneous spotting during storage, which should be taken into account when organizing storage conditions. The fruits are suitable for consumption from October to February, which expands their use during the winter season.
