MOUNTAIN SINAP

The Mountain Sinap apple variety was bred in Gorno-Altaiisk at the M.A. Lisavenko Siberian Horticulture Research Institute through crossing of a selected form and the Northern Sinap variety. The tree is medium-sized with a rounded crown and straight branches, which ensures ease of care and harvesting. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to scab and good winter hardiness, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in regions with harsh climatic conditions.

The fruits of the Mountain Sinap apple have a cylindrical shape with wide ribbing and a golden-yellow base color, complemented by a blurred brownish-red blush. The fruit mass varies from 97 to 170 grams, corresponding to medium and large size. The flesh is white, juicy, with a tart-sweet taste and spicy aroma, making the apples dessert-quality and attractive to consumers. The ripening period falls in late August – early September, and the fruits can be stored for up to 180 days, allowing them to be used throughout the winter season.

The variety yields an average harvest, reaching on average 12.3 tons per hectare, with maximum figures up to 27.6 tons. The apple tree is well suited for planting on open sunny plots, however, the fruits require careful storage and are not distinguished by high transportability. Thanks to the combination of high resistance to diseases, good winter hardiness, excellent taste, and long storage period, the Mountain Sinap variety is promising for gardeners seeking to obtain a quality and stable harvest.
