The autumn variety was obtained at the Krasnoyarsk Experimental Station for Fruit Growing by crossing Siberian apple with Korobovka. Breeders of the variety: S. N. Lyubochko, N. N. Tikhonov, A. S. Tolmacheva.
It was included in the State Register for Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Republics of Buryatia, Tyva, Khakasia, Chita, and Irkutsk Oblasts since 1959. It is also cultivated in Kemerovskaya and Novosibirskaya Oblasts.
Tree is vigorous.
Fruits (see illustration) are small, flat-round, ribbed, with a falling calyx. Color is bright purple, dulling when stored. Flesh is greenish, dense, juicy, sweet-sour with noticeable tartness, which disappears upon freezing. Harvesting time — early September; fruits keep until February.
Fruits yield excellent juice, puree, jam.
Chemical composition of fruits: dry matter — 17.0%, sugars — 10.2%, titratable acids — 2.3%, ascorbic acid — 18.0 mg/100g, vitamin P — 465.0 mg/100g.
Enters fruiting period later than other early varieties. Fruiting periodicity is irregular. Average yield over 12 years — 81.0 centners/ha, maximum — 150 centners/ha.
The variety is used as a framework tree in different regions. Its winter hardiness does not lag behind Purple Ranetka. It is moderately resistant to scab. It is drought-tolerant.
Advantages of the variety: high winter hardiness.
Disadvantages of the variety: small, tart fruits.
